Although Mercy Girl was born last November, the Glasgow crew has already made quite a stir. Daisy Miles, Davey Purdie, Craig Harkness and Kylie MacNaughton play music drawing from EBM, darkwave and electro-pop, addressing themes of love, desperation and the uncertainty of human experience. They sold out their debut gig, played alongside Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge), and their tracks regularly appear at darkwave parties from Los Angeles to Berlin. The single “No Sound” earned them Track of the Week on BBC 6 Music and support from BBC Introducing Scotland as Artist of the Week. Mercy Girl’s work fits both a nighttime drive along an empty highway and dancing in a smoke-filled club full of neon lights.
