Weatherday returns to Poland with their explosive mix of noise pop, emo and indie. The Swedish project will perform on 10 May at Hydrozagadka in Warsaw and on 11 May at Klub Pod Minogą in Poznań. Behind Weatherday is the artistic persona Sputnik, who since the debut album “Come In” (2019) has been building a personal, emotional sound world at the intersection of noise pop, emo, indie and lo-fi. The latest release “Hornet Disaster” is the most elaborate material in the project’s discography, full of nervous energy, catchy melodies and unconventional arrangement ideas — from electro-folk threads to experiments with song form and structure. Sputnik develops the characteristic chaos known from earlier recordings here, but you can also hear clear compositional and productional progress.
