Tour program: LIW (guided tour): Liw Castle — in the early 15th century the builder Niclos (Mikołaj) began construction of a brick castle on an artificial island surrounded by the Liwiec marshes — the border river of Mazovia and Lithuania. The castle was one of six masonry fortresses erected by the Masovian duke Janusz I the Elder. Armory Museum at the Castle in Liw — established in 1963. The exhibition is housed in a baroque manor, the former seat of the starosty; exhibits are located in the hall, the Knight's Hall and exhibition rooms in the attic. The core of the collection consists of Polish and foreign militaria. The tour includes the Knight's Hall and the Castle Tower. Free time. SOKOŁÓW PODLASKI (guided tour): Museum of the Great Lithuanian Route — Sokołów Station. A place that brings closer the history of the Great Lithuanian Route, one of the main trade and postal routes of the former Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, connecting Warsaw with Vilnius. The museum's mission is to preserve the memory of the region's rich cultural heritage. Free time for lunch in the restaurant in the museum basement (the menu refers to the route of the Great Lithuanian Route). Possibility to arrange a group lunch — additionally charged. Planned return to Warsaw around 20:00.
