On May 31 at Kalinowe Serce in Warsaw, Marek Napiórkowski and Monika Borzym will perform old Polish songs in an intimate duo. Monika and Marek have known and liked each other for years — both host radio shows and podcasts, and between them they have lively and witty discussions on a range of topics. Certain winter circumstances led the relationship between these two personalities to continue on stage — as a concert where music intertwines with conversation, and memories with anecdotes. It will be atmospheric, intimate and humorous. A concert for those who love beautiful and thoughtful songs as well as stories and meetings up close. Marek Napiórkowski is a leading Polish jazz guitarist and also a composer. For many years he has been active as a versatile artist, building his own unique musical language that is hard to categorize — with each new undertaking he takes us into ever more interesting musical worlds, sealing them with a trademark distinctive sound. Monika Borzym — one of the most distinctive and respected Polish jazz vocalists — has for years amazed audiences with her emotional interpretation, intelligent musical sensitivity and a recognizable, dark and warm vocal timbre. An artist of international calibre, gifted with an exceptionally wide creative range, she successfully combines musical activity with work as a psychologist, sexologist and radio journalist.
