Agata Romaniuk’s new book is always a good excuse for us to invite one of Poland’s most popular writers and reporters for a joint on-stage meeting. This time, fragments of the novel “Dina, Dina” (W.A.B. Publishing) will supply inspiration for improvised scenes. It’s a moving, multi-toned story stretched between Italy, Warsaw, Bagram and Kharkiv, between the 1980s and the present day. We will add our own chapters to it — somewhat less subtle and less moving, but (hopefully) funny. Agata Romaniuk – writer, reporter, sociologist with a PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences. She has published in Duży Format, Przekrój and Non/Fiction magazine. Columnist for Pismo. Author of reportage books “Z miłości? To współczuję. Opowieści z Omanu”, “Krótko i szczęśliwie. Historie późnych miłości.” and “Najgorsze randki świata. I kilka udanych” (Poznańskie Publishing). In 2022 her debut novel “Proste równoległe” was published (Agora Publishing). Younger readers know her as the improvising storyteller Pani Wieczorynka and the author of, among others, the adventure “Klub Enigma” and the bestselling series “Kocia szajka”. Klancyk Improvised Theatre is one of the pioneers of comedy improvisation in Poland and the first improvisational theatre in Warsaw. It has existed since around 2006. Their performances are stories written on the spot, born before the eyes of the audience from group energy, momentary understanding and an absurd sense of humour. They helped create the new Warsaw comedy scene, including Klub Komediowy, Szkoła Impro and Resort Komedii. Klancyk has performed at literary, music and theatre festivals at home and abroad (including Big Book Festival, Zygmunt Haupt Festival, Malta Festival, Open’er Festival, Chicago Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, Jazzahead). They have collaborated with, among others, the National Library, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Reportage Institute Foundation and Radio 357. They produce the comedy podcast “Codzienne trudności”. Event details: When: FRIDAY | 25.04 | 19:00 Where: Teatr Potem-o-tem, ul.
